Madonna University is an independent, Catholic liberal arts university located in suburban Livonia, Michigan, United States, on the western perimeter of metropolitan Detroit. Conducted by the Felician Sisters, it has extension campuses in southwest Detroit, Orchard Lake, Clinton Township, Michigan at the Macomb University Center, and at the University Center in Gaylord, Michigan. Though strong in its affiliation with the Roman Catholic Church, the school attracts students and faculty of all faiths.

The mission of Madonna University, a Catholic and Franciscan institution, is to instill in its students Christian humanistic values, intellectual inquiry, a respect for diversity, and a commitment to serving others through a liberal arts education integrated with career preparation, based on the truths and principles recognized within a Catholic tradition.

Madonna University is an independent, coeducational, Catholic liberal arts university sponsored by the Felician Sisters of Livonia, Michigan. The University, founded in 1947, is an outgrowth of Presentation Junior College (1937-1947). Through a strong general education curriculum integrated with liberal arts and career-oriented majors, the University offers programs leading to doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s and associate degrees and certificates.
 

Madonna University offers a number of student services including nonremedial tutoring, placement service, and health insurance. Madonna University also offers campus safety and security services like 24-hour foot and vehicle patrols, late night transport/escort service, 24-hour emergency telephones, lighted pathways/sidewalks, student patrols, and controlled dormitory access (key, security card, etc). Of the students at Madonna University, 99 percent have cars on campus. Alcohol is not permitted for students of legal age at Madonna University.
